Asiago, Egg, Bacon and Cheese Bagel Sandwich

bagel sandwich

The other day while hubby and I were shopping, we stopped at Panera Bread Company to get a bite to eat. It was about 9am and although we could have ordered one of their amazing soups or sandwiches, breakfast food sounded like it would really hit the spot. We both decided upon their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an Asiago bagel. It was really good! So, before we left I decided to buy a couple of their bagels to try to recreate this sandwich at home. This morning while hubby was cooking the bacon, I prepared the remaining ingredients. What resulted was a breakfast sandwich similar to Panera’s…very easy and very good. 🙂

Ingredients:
Asiago bagel (I prefer the one’s from Panera, but any asiago bagel should do)
White cheddar cheese
Bacon
Egg

ingredients

Cook bacon until done

bacon cooked

Slice bagel in half, you can spread a little butter on inside if desired

sliced bage

Slice cheese

sliced cheese

Cook egg thoroughly. It works best if you have an egg ring to help keep the egg together.

1 egg

Break egg yolk to mix with egg white either before or while cooking

Place cheese on bagel and microwave for about 30 seconds until cheese slightly melted. Next layer cooked egg and bacon on one half and cover with top half of bagel.

layered bagel

Microwave sandwich for 15-20 seconds until warm, but be careful not to heat too long or bagel will become hard.

Enjoy 🙂
